Momentous

Momentus translates to “one of great importance or significance, especially in having a bearing on future events”.

We live in centuries of constant change, convincing ourselves that this will be the year I make my change.  The unfortunate truth is, we unconsciously smother our earth’s oceans despite our efforts to conserve its life.

Momentous is true to its meaning - it is of great importance that we ensure effective change to stop ourselves polluting the earth’s oceans.  The artwork shows hands with a beautiful fish leaping from its only water source.  Do you see it?  Viewer, I challenge you to look for the pollution that cuffs our hands together and convict us as the true criminals we are despite many perceived successful efforts of conserving the lives of our marine life.

Do you want to suffocate on a plastic bag and be incapable of being a voice of change?  Look at your hands; break free from your plastic handcuffs and be the momentous change our ocean’s desperately yearn for.
